Meta plans to invest $65 billion in AI by 2025

Meta aims to maintain its position as a key player in artificial intelligence by committing a staggering amount of money. The trend of significant spending in AI is becoming increasingly evident, particularly with the ongoing announcements from major tech players.

Following the ambitious Stargate project, which is expected to require $500 billion for AI infrastructure in the U.S. over the next four years, other tech giants like Microsoft are also planning substantial investments, with $80 billion earmarked for 2025. Meta is joining this competitive landscape, as emphasized by CEO Mark Zuckerberg's latest announcement.

Zuckerberg revealed that Meta will allocate $65 billion in 2025 for the development of AI infrastructure to keep pace with OpenAI. He stated, “This year will be crucial for AI," highlighting the company's efforts, including the construction of a massive data center capable of generating over 2 gigawatts of power. By year's end, Meta anticipates an online capacity of around 1 gigawatt and plans to have 1.3 million GPUs, indicating significant future orders from NVIDIA.
