Reliance, a giant in the Indian industry, plans to construct the largest data center in the world. To equip it, the company will, unsurprisingly, turn to NVIDIA and its powerful artificial intelligence chips.
As the demand for data center infrastructure continues to soar due to the rise of artificial intelligence, Reliance aims to stake its claim in the market. Led by billionaire Mukesh Ambani, the multinational operates in various sectors, including petrochemicals, telecommunications, and textiles, making it the most valued company in India.
This new project could be highly profitable for the company. Reliance is set to build the world's largest data center in Jamnagar, northeastern India, with an initial investment estimated between $20 and $30 billion. Mukesh Ambani plans to acquire NVIDIA's powerful AI accelerators, known as Blackwell, to support the infrastructure, which is crucial for developing India's digital landscape and enhancing its competitiveness in the global generative AI race.
