Amazon Web Services (AWS) is set to address the increasing demand for artificial intelligence while enhancing its energy efficiency by integrating new components into its data centers worldwide.
In response to the growing needs of generative AI, AWS has developed components specifically designed for its data centers. The goal is to create an infrastructure capable of supporting increasingly powerful and energy-intensive AI applications, as discussed during its annual event, AWS re:Invent.
AWS's new architectures signify a significant transformation, featuring simplified electrical and mechanical components that achieve a record availability of 99.9999%. This exceptional reliability drastically reduces potential failure points, with 89% fewer racks exposed to electrical risks. To put this into perspective, it means that one data center out of a million could potentially be impacted by an electrical failure, compared to nearly 90 previously.
