Welcome to a new era of robot vacuums. At CES 2025, the Chinese company Roborock unveiled the Saros 270, a robot vacuum that stands out from the rest. It features a mechanical arm that can be used to pick up objects in its path while cleaning.
Measuring 20 centimeters, the Saros 270 is equipped with two cameras that allow it to see its environment, enabling it to "think and act." It is pre-programmed to recognize 108 objects, and users can add an additional 50 objects via a mobile app for the vacuum to identify using AI-based recognition technology.
Once it recognizes an object, the vacuum's arm is designed to grasp it "gently" and "hold it securely" to avoid damage, with the option to release it if necessary. However, it cannot lift objects weighing more than 300 grams. Additionally, the robot vacuum can serve as an "ideal companion" for pets, recognizing them and taking photos while avoiding them during cleaning. Currently, Roborock has not announced the release date or price.
