Tesla Model Y, new version: mass production to start very soon

Tesla is set to launch a new version of its Model Y in 2025, with production beginning in China. Since 2023, the company has been planning an update for the Model Y through its “Juniper” project, which may feature several design changes.

According to Chinese media, production of the Juniper version of the Model Y is expected to start in January 2025 at the Shanghai factory. The updated Model Y has been spotted multiple times, and a video of it was shared from San José, California, in mid-December.

The new Model Y may include various improvements such as a redesigned front, a light bar at the rear, and a quieter interior. Currently, production is only confirmed for the Shanghai facility, meaning European markets may have to wait until spring 2025 for availability, unless Tesla decides to assemble some units at its Berlin factory.
