Over $440 billion: Elon Musk's fortune soars thanks to SpaceX and Donald Trump

Elon Musk has made a strategic bet on Donald Trump, becoming the richest person in history following the surge in Tesla's stock price during the American election. With a wealth estimated at $384 billion by the Bloomberg Index, Musk has gained $155 billion since the beginning of the year.

However, this may just be the beginning for the entrepreneur. While benefiting from Tesla's stock rally, Musk is also the largest shareholder of SpaceX, the private aerospace startup, owning 42% of the company. Since June, SpaceX's valuation was recorded at $210 billion, but a new investor transaction has skyrocketed this figure.

According to an internal email reviewed by Bloomberg, SpaceX and its investors purchased $1.25 billion in shares at $185 each, up from $112 during a prior valuation. Consequently, SpaceX’s value surged by nearly 67% to $350 billion, placing it above major public companies like LVMH, SAP, Coca-Cola, and Samsung. This new valuation propels Musk's fortune to approximately $443 billion, with predictions suggesting he could become the world's first trillionaire by 2027.
