"It's like a little shelter": Mark Zuckerberg clarifies rumors about his giant bunker in Hawaii

Journalist Emily Chang from Bloomberg recently visited Koolau Ranch, Mark Zuckerberg's Hawaiian estate, during the latest episode of her show The Circuit. She took the opportunity to ask some questions about the underground shelter being constructed on the property.

This project, revealed by Wired last year, discusses an underground shelter of over 460 square meters (5,000 square feet) equipped with emergency supplies of energy and food. "What are you worried about?" Emily Chang asked Meta's CEO. "It's like a little shelter," he replied. "Call it what you want, it's a shelter against hurricanes."

He described the rumors surrounding the project as "disproportionate" and denied it being a bunker built for "apocalypse" scenarios. He further clarified that the estate envisioned by him and his wife, Priscilla Chan, would also be intended for farming to "create the highest quality beef in the world." This $100 million bunker has increased the estate's total valuation to $270 million, according to Wired.
