A professional diver, accustomed to retrieving trash from underwater, was shocked when he discovered an iPhone 15 among the rocks. The device appeared fully functional, and with the help of his son, they managed to power it on, as though nothing had happened.
Initially, unlocking the phone proved challenging. After seeking assistance at a phone store without success, it took three weeks to unlock the SIM card using a "very simple" code from another phone. This finally allowed them to contact the rightful owner, a 16-year-old teenager. The teen shared that he had lost the phone on August 25 while attempting to film a dive. The device slipped away during the process.
Having only recently purchased the phone, the boy faced a reprimand from his father but was thrilled to recover it despite already buying a replacement. "My heart raced with adrenaline," he said. As a gesture of gratitude, he gifted the diver $50. This discovery is surprising since most smartphones, including iPhones, are not designed to withstand prolonged immersion in water. While the iPhone 15 is still operational, the owner noted that the microphone is no longer functional and he now relies on the camera's mic: "I can't send voice messages, but I can still make calls," he explained.
