Do you remember Google Glass? Google is getting back in the game

Augmented reality glasses are increasingly attracting the attention of tech giants. And don't think that the significant failure of Google Glass discouraged Google in this field… On the contrary.

The Mountain View firm was perhaps just ahead of its time. Launched in 2011, Google Glass never achieved the expected success. They were initially redirected for professional use, and then Google decided to end the program two years ago.

Almost fifteen years later, augmented reality and mixed reality are gaining popularity, with companies like Samsung, Meta, and Apple considering marketing smart glasses powered by this technology. This move signifies that Google is not willing to miss such an opportunity. The tech giant is reportedly about to acquire the startup AdHawk, which specializes in advanced eye-tracking technologies for $115 million.
