BYD has announced a 1000V electric architecture that can recharge up to 300 km of range in just 5 minutes. This technology is initially aimed at high-end models, accompanied by a specific network of charging stations, promising to enhance energy efficiency and reduce waiting times for drivers.
According to Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD, this rapid charging technology can significantly reduce charging times, achieving a range of up to 300 km in only 5 minutes. The Han L and Tang L models will be the first to benefit from this innovation, with plans for broader application across other ranges.
The 1000V architecture developed by BYD improves charging power compared to existing 400V and 800V systems, allowing for a charge rate of 5C to 6C. This advancement aims to address one of the main barriers to widespread electric vehicle adoption: charging time. BYD is set to install its own ultra-fast charging stations to support this technology.
