As CES prepares to open its doors to the public in just a few hours, the French brand Withings, a regular at the event, has unveiled Omnia, a next-generation connected mirror capable of analyzing your health data in real-time. This all-in-one hub resembles more of an innovative concept than a true revolution in connected health.
The Omnia mirror consists of two distinct parts: a base that functions as a scale and a mirror that serves primarily as an interface to display various health information. In addition to weight and biometric measurements captured by the scale, the device can obviously be integrated with the Withings ecosystem to synchronize your sleep data, heart rate, and blood pressure readings. The mirror will act as a comprehensive hub, summarizing all the information collected by the brand's products, including heart health, nutritional data, body composition, lung function, sleep levels, and physical activity tracking.
As expected, AI will feature prominently, with a 3D body model and a voice assistant capable of answering simple questions. However, the most interesting aspect is the ability to initiate teleconsultations with healthcare professionals directly from home. While this idea is not new and has already gained popularity in pharmacies and remote areas with teleconsultation kiosks, the effectiveness of such virtual medical appointments remains under scrutiny. Theoretically, with Omnia, users could have a complete health appointment without leaving their bathroom. Don't expect to buy the Withings Omnia this year, as it is currently just a concept product, with commercial availability aimed for 2026, though no specific date or price has been confirmed yet. In the meantime, the AI voice assistant presented by the manufacturer is expected to arrive on the Withings mobile app soon.
