BYD, now the leading Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has unveiled its new electric platform that allows charging a car in just five minutes for a range of 470 kilometers. This significant advancement is driven by a workforce of 120,000 engineers filing 45 patents daily, far ahead of Western competitors.
The company announced its Super e-Platform on March 17, showcasing a technology that enables cars to be charged in the same time it takes to fill up with gasoline. Stella Li, the executive vice president, is currently on a European tour to promote this innovation.
BYD is planning to install 4,000 ultra-fast charging stations with up to 1,000 kilowatts of power. With over 4 million vehicles sold in 2024, BYD is surpassing Tesla. The company's stock has surged by 47% this year, and it aims to expand its presence in Europe with 120 dealerships by 2025.
