Dofus hit by massive cyberattack

Two days after the launch of Dofus 3, the latest version of its massively multiplayer online game, the studio Ankama has been forced to shut down operations. The Dofus servers are currently unavailable due to a "DDoS attack," prompting the teams to "perform maintenance on all servers."

As a direct consequence of this massive cyberattack, players are unable to play or connect, as shown by Kaspersky's cyber threat map. Ankama claims to be working hard to "strengthen the security" of the servers.

This cyberattack comes on the heels of a significant graphical update for Dofus, which included a change in the game engine. Former players were able to reclaim their historical characters on Wednesday, December 4, while new servers were opened for newcomers interested in joining.
