The next battlefield release is set for late 2025

Last September, during its quarterly report, Electronic Arts officially announced the next installment in the Battlefield series. Although the title does not yet have an official name, many speculate it will be Battlefield 6, aiming to redeem the franchise after several disappointing entries. EA confirmed that this new game will align closely with the successes of Battlefield 3 (2011) and Battlefield 4 (2013), with a release planned for October 2025.

In November, Electronic Arts emphasized that it must avoid repeating past mistakes with this new Battlefield installment. To achieve this, the American publisher is utilizing four development studios: DICE, Motive, Criterion Games, and Ripple Effect. Internal testing will be more rigorous than ever, gathering a significant amount of data and feedback, aiming to create the most ambitious Battlefield game to date and to compete again with Activision's Call of Duty.

Today, a professional from the video game industry at Amazon Games revealed that the next Battlefield will be very different from previous games, with 98% of the staff who worked on earlier titles no longer involved. Following several commercial failures like Mass Effect Andromeda and Battlefield V, EA has undergone significant changes in leadership and project management, now led by Byron Beede, former general manager of the Call of Duty franchise. The game is still expected to release in October 2025.
