The new console remains shrouded in mystery, with its game catalog largely undisclosed. However, information is beginning to leak regarding what will follow the Switch, despite strict non-disclosure agreements imposed on publishers. According to reports from Tech&Co, corroborating insider NatetheHate's claims, Ubisoft is currently working on ports of Assassin's Creed Mirage and Assassin's Creed Shadows for the upcoming Nintendo console.
These ports are described as "ambitious" and are expected to leverage the console's technical power, as reported by sources close to the French publisher. Assassin's Creed Mirage has been available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC since late 2023 and was developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux. Originally intended as an expansion for Valhalla, it evolved into a standalone, lower-priced title. Meanwhile, Assassin's Creed Shadows is set to be the next installment in Ubisoft's popular series, with a journey to Japan planned.
While Shadows is scheduled for release on March 20 for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, the Switch 2 version won't arrive until late this year to ensure high quality on the platform, according to Tech&Co sources. Ubisoft's cautious presence in the upcoming Nintendo console's catalog suggests more ports and new experiences are in store, following their success with critically acclaimed games like Mario & Rabbids on the Switch.
