In late 2024, new rumors suggested that the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, expected to be officially revealed this month for a release between March and May 2025, may have much more power than previously thought. Recent reports indicate that this power could be comparable to that of the PS4 Pro, Sony's console launched in November 2016.
Unlike previous rumors, this time the information comes from credible sources, including Tom Warren from The Verge and John Linneman from the YouTube channel Digital Foundry. Tom Warren humorously addressed the circulating rumors with a tweet, noting that the rumored "Nintendo Switch 2" might not actually be more powerful than a PS4 Pro.
there are so many rumors floating around about the Switch 2, but the funniest one is about it being as powerful as a PS4 Pro 🙃

John Linneman responded, clarifying that while the Switch 2 may not match the PS4 Pro in some aspects, its modern NVIDIA architecture could provide better overall performance. However, as a portable device, it will have limitations in other areas. Ultimately, Nintendo is expected to reveal more details about the console soon.
