Half-Life 2 RTX demo arrives in a few days

After months of teasing linking Valve's iconic video game with NVIDIA's RTX technology, Half-Life 2 RTX is almost ready to launch! The game is making a comeback, with NVIDIA using this classic to promote its RTX Remix technology.

The goal is to breathe new life into the adventures of Gordon Freeman and Alyx Vance in the dystopian world of "City 17". Ray tracing and high-definition textures are the highlights. RTX Remix serves as a modding platform, providing tools for creators to enhance their favorite games with impressive graphical improvements with minimal effort.

NVIDIA has announced that on March 18, a playable demo focused on the popular Ravenholm level will be available. While the demo is free, it will only allow for two hours of gameplay, showcasing textures with eight times more pixels and 70 times more complex geometry than the original. However, it is expected that Half-Life 2 RTX will be more demanding than the original game, so we await the required configurations for optimal performance.
