The video game studio is standing firm against Apple. To overcome the pricing barrier set by the Cupertino firm that prevents developers from joining the Epic Store, Epic Games has decided to pay their fees.
The fight against Apple's 30% commission on in-app payments has finally paid off for Epic Games. Last summer, the studio managed to open up to iPhones, as Apple was compelled in Europe to allow the installation of the Epic Store on its devices.
However, the American giant did not back down easily and imposed a tax on developers for revenue generated from a third-party app store installed on an iPhone. Epic Games has now offered to cover these costs for developers who make their games available on the Epic Store for a year, in hopes that the European Commission will put pressure on Apple regarding compliance with the law.
