VIDEO - Death Stranding 2: an impressive 10-minute trailer reveals release date on June 26 for PS5

Five years after the initial adventures of Sam Porter Bridges, it's time to explore the sequel. Over two years after its announcement at the 2022 Game Awards, Hideo Kojima invited fans to the SXSW in Austin, Texas, where he unveiled a stunning 10-minute trailer that confirmed the game's release date set for June 26, 2025, exclusively on PS5.

Perhaps a hint about the release date of Death Stranding 2 was present in its title from the start. This second installment will take us "On The Beach," perfectly timed for a summer launch. Fans can look forward to June 26, 2025, for the continuation of Sam Porter Bridges' journey in Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, with early access for those who choose the collector's edition starting June 24.

The first game, released in 2019, focused on "connecting the world." This sequel, however, seems to question whether that was a wise decision. Join Sam and his companions on an inspiring mission to save humanity from extinction while navigating a world filled with otherworldly enemies and obstacles. The new trailer showcases breathtaking environments powered by the DECIMA engine and features numerous references to Metal Gear Solid, including a character resembling Solid Snake and the enormous monster Magellan Man reminiscent of Metal Gear Rex.
