On X, many users parody accounts of public figures, including its owner Elon Musk. While some clearly label their accounts with "(Parody)," not all do so. However, they will soon be required to comply.
On Thursday, January 9, X announced the rollout of "profile labels for parody accounts to clearly distinguish these types of accounts and their content on our platform." These labels will be applied to both accounts and posts, helping to prevent users from being misled.
Currently, these labels are not mandatory, and X will provide further information on this soon. Parody account owners can already voluntarily add this label to their profile by navigating to "Settings and Privacy," then "Your Account," and "Account Information."
