A new scam involving the sale of processors has emerged, featuring the delivery of a sealed box.
Online shopping usually goes smoothly, but scams are a well-known risk. One of the latest examples comes from Hardware Busters, who received a nearly 15-year-old processor instead of the new AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D they ordered.
This type of processor scam has been reported on Amazon, with TechSpot highlighting similar cases since 2017. Despite these frequent incidents, the retailer seems unable to put an end to them. The Hardware Busters video reveals a sophisticated scam where the ordered AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D was sent as a fake FX-4100 processor. The counterfeit was delivered in a sealed box, making it difficult to identify the deception until opened.
