On Whatsapp, you can now reply to voice messages without having to listen to them

A very useful feature. After several months of testing, Whatsapp has released a new feature to transcribe voice messages so they can read them instead of listening.

"Voice messages make your interactions with loved ones even more personal. However, there may be times when you're on the go or in a noisy environment, or you might receive a long voice message that you simply cannot listen to," the application stated in a blog post.

For this reason, Whatsapp will offer voice message transcription, a function that will also be particularly helpful for hearing-impaired individuals. Set to be available in the "coming weeks," it can be activated from the app's settings by tapping on "Chats" and then "Transcribe voice messages." Users will also have the option to choose the language in which they want the voice messages transcribed. Whatsapp notes that at launch, only a few languages will be available, but others will be added in the coming months.
