"You will be able to modify almost any aspect of your videos." In contrast to TikTok, which restricts underage users from using certain AI filters, Meta plans to widely implement generative artificial intelligence on Instagram. The social network announced that it will introduce features from its Movie Gen AI model.
According to Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, this will provide creators with more tools to "bring [their] ideas to life" without needing specific video editing skills. Users will be able to submit text requests to reimagine a video, allowing for customization of backgrounds, outfits, and even personal appearances, along with the addition of objects in the background.
Based on a video by Adam Mosseri, the AI is expected to account for body movements, although the demonstration clips are quite brief. While OpenAI has introduced Sora to popularize AI-generated videos, Meta aims to provide its users with a wider array of options for content creation. Movie Gen AI intends to "preserve human identity and movement," serving as an alternative to other solutions like OpenAI's and Firefly Video, which simplifies video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro. These new tools are expected to be available on Instagram by 2025.
