The founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, who temporarily left France for Dubai despite being charged with complicity in criminal activities, expressed his happiness at "being back home" in a message posted on his platform on Monday.
"The procedure is ongoing, but it’s good to be back home," he added, thanking the French judges for allowing a modification of his judicial supervision.
Durov, a 40-year-old billionaire, departed from Bourget airport near Paris to Dubai, the location of his company, with permission from the French judiciary. The judicial authorities had suspended the obligations of his judicial supervision between March 15 and April 7, allowing him to leave France for "several weeks."
