"I don't know what he was thinking": Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak criticizes Elon Musk

Steve Wozniak does not hold back. According to Fortune, the co-founder of Apple has criticized the mass layoffs of certain federal employees encouraged by Elon Musk. In February, tens of thousands of American officials were dismissed as part of a workforce reduction plan led by the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), overseen by Musk and tasked by Donald Trump with cutting public spending.

"I don't know what he was thinking," Wozniak stated on CNBC. "Harassment is the best way to define what [Elon Musk] is doing," he continued. Wozniak believes that "these massive layoffs are not a good thing for a company."

While Wozniak agrees that government inefficiencies should be eliminated, he disagrees with the approach taken. He advocates for a more surgical method, suggesting that "it should be done with a scalpel rather than a blacksmith's hammer." Despite ongoing legal challenges, additional massive layoffs are already planned, with over 80,000 positions in the Veterans Affairs Department potentially at risk.
