Tencent prepares to unveil a new competitor to Gemini, ChatGPT, and DeepSeek

The Chinese tech giant is determined not to fall behind in the AI race, which is also taking place within the Middle Kingdom. To compete with DeepSeek, it launches its new AI model, T1.

Artificial intelligence is currently shaping up as an international race to develop the best tools. While the United States once appeared to be in the lead, since January, they have been facing a rival from China, DeepSeek, whose R1 language model is on par with the best from OpenAI.

Today, Tencent is in the spotlight with the official deployment of its reasoning AI model, T1, which promises to ensure that content logic is clear and the text is tidy and clean. T1 is built on the Turbo S language architecture and processes requests faster than DeepSeek's R1. Tencent claims that T1 would achieve better scores than R1 on certain knowledge and reasoning benchmarks, setting the stage for a competitive future.
