Quantum technology, though still somewhat mysterious and not fully developed, holds immense promises with France and Europe well-positioned in this race. Following artificial intelligence, companies are now urged to quickly get on board with quantum technology.
This technology relies on the ability of two particles, even when very distant from one another, to remain connected by transmitting information through "quantum teleportation." This phenomenon promises extraordinary computing power, with quantum computing already having applications in cryptography.
The ideal quantum computer does not yet exist, noted Alain Aspect, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist in 2022, who expressed hope of seeing it "in his lifetime." He emphasized the urgency for companies to have their internal systems ready for quantum technology, stating that those who are first to adopt will have a significant advantage, potentially reshuffling entire industrial sectors.
